Who we are

The Toucan Music Agency was born from the legacy of one of Cardiff’s most iconic music-led venues, The Toucan Club - founded by musician and curator Simon Kingman, and former Cardiff Council Special Events Manager Helen Kingman bringing events such as the Cardiff Big Weekend, the Cardiff Comedy Festival and the Cardiff Bay Jazz-Bop & Blues Festival to name a few.

Known for bringing some of the world’s most innovative artists to the city, The Toucan Club welcomed genre-defining acts such as Brazilian jazz-fusion legends Azymuth, hip-hop pioneers Arrested Development, and many other boundary-pushing performers who helped shape Cardiff’s musical identity.

Carrying this heritage forward, The Toucan Music Agency embodies the same spirit of creativity, authenticity, and exceptional live performance. With over 25 years of experience across event planning, touring, production, and artist management, Simon and the team bring deep industry knowledge to every project.

Simon’s own career spans the globe—touring India with Zervas & Pepper, performing across the USA with Sian Evans of Kosheen, and even forging cultural ties with Cardiff’s twin city Stuttgart through his work with the band Quattro. These international experiences give him an unparalleled understanding of what makes live music truly connect—across audiences, cultures, and occasions.

Today, The Toucan Music Agency is a dynamic UK-based entertainment agency specialising in outstanding live music for weddings, private celebrations, corporate events, and high-end venues. Our roster features an eclectic mix of bands, duos, vocalists, DJs, and instrumentalists, covering genres from pop, soul, jazz, funk, acoustic and folk to Americana and classical.
